Compared with other technologies, thermal imaging offers a complete solution for common surveillance needs. Traditional lighting alone isn't terribly effective at highlighting intruders at a distance or hidden in brush and it calls attention to the facility. Lighting also indicates the direction in which security guards or cameras are looking, and just as importantly, where they are not looking. In addition, other night illumination surveillance methods become blinded by light blooms, see minimal distances and can be expensive to maintain.
