Surface Quality Monitoring
Infrared, Inc., is a distributor of Surface Quality Monitoring Systems (SQM) that are used to measure surface cleanliness, or monitor absence/presence of organic and/or inorganic surface micro-contamination.
These Surface Quality Monitoring systems have the sensitivity and operational simplicity required to provide fast and cost effective surface evaluation for all metals.
The operation of the SQM systems is based on the principle known as Optically Stimulated Electron Emission (OSEE), also know as Photo Electron Emission (PEE). It is well known that when metals or certain other surfaces are illuminated with ultraviolet (UV) light with the proper wavelength (energy), electrons are emmited from the surface. The process by which UV photons interact with the surface to produce electrons is known as OSEE.
SQM 100 - A single channel Analog System
The SQM series are non-destructive, non-contact surface contamination and thin film detection systems capable of detecting thin layer contamination, thin films and coating down to the Angstrom level. These systems represent a major breakthrough by providing, for the first time, a quantitative measure of surface cleanliness.
SQM 200 - A single channel Digital System
Any of the SQM model series is capable of verifying metal contamination; monitoring absence/presence of organic and/or inorganic on virtually all surfaces of all metals. These systems operate in an ambient environment, require no sample preparation or deposit of any agents on the surface.
SQM 500 - An integrated TURN-KEY Scanning, Data Acquisition and 3D Color Graphic System.
SQM 500 is the solution for scanning a flat surface to help make NON-VISIBLE contaminants coatings become visible through a color mapping technique
In any parts cleaning environment where the quality and efficiency of part cleaning equipment for removal of surface contamination is required, these systems provide a scientific solution by quantitatively measuring the surface cleanliness.
SQM 600 - The leading integrated TURN-KEY Scanning, Data Acquisition and 3D Color Graphic System
The SQM 600 is made for scanning a cylinder surface, outside and inside, to help make NON-VISIBLE contaminants or coatings become visible through a color mapping tichnique
The SQM Systems can also be used to measure the relative thickness of very thin films and detect the absence or presence of invisible, clear thin films, coatings or lubricants on virtually any surface.
