Infrared Technology Aids in Fight Against Swine Flu

Infrared imaging technology passively captures temperature defined images for potential swine flu symptom detection. This non-contact, mass-screen1 technology can be leveraged in large public areas, such as airports, to detect a person's temperature. It is important to note that infrared imaging technology does not detect the swine flu. Rather, it detects a potential symptom of swine flu, in this case, fever. This method is called infrared fever detection.

Utilizing infrared fever detection technology has proven effective in similar situations. Several years ago, infrared imaging technology was used to detect fever symptoms of SARS2.
